A Quick & Easy Guide to Asexuality by Molly Muldoon (Author) and Will Hernandez (Illustrations)

Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

As someone who identifies as part of the Ace spectrum, I was really excited to get to read this book. There is so much misconception surrounding Asexuality/Aromanticism and I was thrilled to see something like this was coming out. Safe to say I was not disappointed.

This book is wonderfully illustrated, breaking down concepts into nice chunks including stereotypes, dating, and even what the spectrum of ACE contains. I learned that axolotls are one of the unofficial mascots of the ACE spectrum (I knew about the cake), and that just brought me joy since I love those little things. This book doesn’t pull punches; it is filled with personal stories but it is written in a really accessible manner for all ages, and it really tries to break down concepts that are misunderstood in such a way that you can then explain it to others.

This book is one of the best books I have read on Asexuality in a while, and a large part of that was just due to how accessible the writing is. I look forward to sharing this with others. 5/5
