Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
This was a cute book, even if the title is slightly deceptive. Well, that isn’t a completely fair statement – it does start with the crashing of a wedding but the majority of the plot does not revolve around that event. I realize that it is referring to the character and not the event, but whatever. It is a cute book. This is a great strangers to friends to lovers, even if it feels a bit rushed at times. The fake dating trope is strong and well done, plus it is always fun to read books that switch between characters. The family relationships are well written and I loved all of the Brazilian culture in this book – I want all of the food now. It was an easy enough book to read, the stakes were always really clear, and I was never worried about the status of the happily ever after of this book. 3.75/5
