Oh my goodness this book. This book was a enemies that are not enemies to lovers book, if that can even be a thing (it is now), that gave me everything I could have wanted when looking at the premise and then some. This is the first Avery Flynn title I have read, besides Back in the Burbs which was cowritten with Tracy Wolff, and I am wondering how I have not devoured more of her titles. I am waiting (im)patiently for the other two books in this series to come out, because if they are a fraction of the the banter & wit of this one, then I will have a favorite romance series. And I never thought a day would come where I could have a favorite romance series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cover and title of this book threw me at first, because I thought I knew what I was getting into\/what kinds of characters this book was going to contain, and I have never been happier to be so dead wrong. Avery has a way of writing snark with sincerity that I find lacking in many other books I have read recently. This was a fresh read for me, and I didn’t find that I could predict individual events that were going to happen the way I sometimes can, even if the big overarching plot seemed to be obvious – I mean, it was pretty clear a HEA was in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dixon had flaws but they were genuine and redeemable, as opposed to a bad boy for the sake of being a bad boy thing. Fiona was such a kind spirit and it was hilarious while sweet to watch her develop as a person, finding her identity. Both of their families were so fun to get to know, and I hope we see more of Fiona’s family, even the next books center on Dixon’s cousins. I truly devoured this book and would definitely recommend it if you think the premise is fun. I enjoyed it so much, easily 5\/5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
